Guinovart’s music has caused a sensation among the people who saw the film at a private session. It includes romantic and memorable numbers, together with a series of fragments which create moments of tension to accompany scenes in the film. The score is both catchy and powerful. El largo invierno, now as a recording with no visual support, is a suite of numbers of different lengths, easy to visualise with the help of the partial titles and knowledge of the plot, some of which are clearly transitional episodes, while others are little post-romantic gems featuring excellent use of orchestral bulk.
